How Dillydag chooses

What plays here

Every clip comes from a YouTube channel we have approved as an official source for the show, such as the studio or network that makes it. Trailers are the YouTube videos TMDB lists for each film. Everything plays in YouTube's own player: Dillydag does not host, own or edit any of the footage, and each video stays credited to the channel that uploaded it.

We only show a video where it plays in your country (the US or the UK), so you never get a dead card.

How clips are sorted

Fixed written rules read each upload's title and length; no AI picks, ranks or writes anything on the site. An upload counts as a compilation only when its title says so (a best-of, a supercut, an hour of the show) or it sits in a compilation playlist we follow on that channel, and it runs at least 8 minutes. Other uploads under 20 minutes are scenes; longer ones with no such sign stay off the rails. Interviews, behind-the-scenes videos, tutorials, bloopers and panels are kept as extras, and games, adverts and music videos never appear in the best bits or scenes. When the rules get a video wrong, a person corrects it by hand.

What a vote means

Votes are counted once per browser, using an anonymous id in a cookie; there are no accounts. A vote on a trailer is a vote on that trailer upload, not a rating of the film. Popular lists only rank something once enough different people have voted on or played it; until then they say what they are based on instead.

Trending is outside data, kept apart from Dillydag votes: TMDB's daily and weekly trending lists, and Google Trends' “Trending now” list for the US and the UK. A topic only shows when it matches a film, show or actor we have. Anniversaries and seasonal picks come from release dates and a fixed calendar.

Collections

Each collection is a written rule, shown on its page under “How this list is chosen”. A collection is published when at least six items play in your region, or when it is a complete film franchise (every released film, at least three). Published now:
